THE CHALLENGE OF CONTEMPORARY EDUCATION

When students cannot be physically present in the classroom, digital collaboration is our best available option. Unfortunately, existing collaboration solutions have not been developed specifically with a classroom setting in mind.


For example, how do you teach when some students are physically present in the classroom while others attend class from home? How do you guarentee that everyone is able to see the teacher without blocking the view of the notes and presentations on the whiteboard? And how do you ensure the necessary interaction between the teacher and the students at home? Teachers prefer to teach using methods they are familiar with: in front of the classroom, with a marker for writing on the whiteboard and a display for digital presentations.

ANALOGUE TEACHING

All students are present in the classroom and the teacher illustrates the material with notes on an analogue whiteboard. Thanks to the three large whiteboards covering the entire front of the classroom, the teacher has plenty of space - for example to write out long mathematical formulas or to make large, schematic drawings. There is no display panel in the way, so the full width of the board can be used.

Workflow for the teacher: class can start immediately.

PRESENTING DIGITALLY

All students are present in the classroom. The teacher can present digitally and interactively on the middle board and simultaneously make analogue notes on the left and right boards. Once the presentation is finished, the projection surface can also be used for notes, if desired.

Workflow for the teacher: connect a laptop via HDMI and select "PRESENT LOCAL" on the control panel.

HYBRID TEACHING

Some of the students are present in the classroom, but others attend class from home. In this scenario, the unique benefits of Learn Anywhere come into their own.

Fully remote teaching

Easy to Operate

The Logitech TAP acts as a central hub to control all functionality in an accessible and simple way. Upon entering the classroom, the motion sensor registers activity and the Tap is immediately ready for use. The lesson can then be started with one touch of the display.

All Students Visible

The right side of the whiteboard can be used to display the students at home. In this way, the interaction between teacher and students is maintained as well as possible. Optionally, this image can also be projected at the back of the classroom, or displayed on an extra computer screen in front of the teacher.

Works With Microsoft Teams

The Learn Anywhere platform uses Microsoft Teams. This service is part of Microsoft 365 and is already used by a large number of educational institutions and students, which will ensure rapid adoption.

The Best of Analogue and Digital

Learn Anywhere combines a large analog writing surface with an interactive projection surface for an effortless transition between the digital and analogue domain.

The teacher can make analogue notes on the six-meter-wide whiteboard to illustrate the material and use the same whiteboard to present digitally in large format (up to 100 inches). In this way, the space in the classroom is optimally used and even the students in the back of the classroom can read the presented material effortlessly.

Maximum Involvement

To make remote teaching feel as natural as possible, Learn Anywhere uses two different cameras: an overview camera in the classroom aimed at the teacher and a content camera aimed at the whiteboard.

WHAT ARE THE HARD AND SOFTWARE SPECIFICATIONS?

Teachers want to focus on teaching instead of bothering with all kinds of complicated settings. For these types of users, Microsoft has developed a special version of Teams for the Logitech TAP room system. This version of Microsoft Teams has a number of important additions that ensure the application works optimally for spaces. This means that the teacher no longer has to drag windows to the correct screen with a mouse and the audio and video hardware is always ready for use. Thanks to the integration of the Logitech TAP room system with Extron Control, a remote control is no longer required and only the strictly necessary buttons are left: Presenter, Teams and Off.

Microsoft Office 365 is available for practically all educational institutions, making Microsoft Teams more accessible than ever. Also, Microsoft Teams is already used by a large number of educational institutions, which means no special training is required.
